Brands We Love: The New Society

The New Society began in Spain in 2018 as the personal product of Estefania Grandio, founder and current creative director.

Twenty years of experience in the world’s leading fashion brands and the birth of her two children, Valentina and Matteo, served as the inspiration for her to begin her journey as an entrepreneur.

The firm’s creation was driven by a wish to accompany the transformation of our growingly conscious society with the beauty of timeless aesthetics.

To create a sustainable brand with a strong aesthetic language, in constant pursuit of beauty, conveying emotion in each collection with a strongly conceptual element. Primitive, the first collection, was launched in January 2019, setting the bases for the values and image that now represent The New Society.

Since then, every collection has had a strong conceptual element, where although every season is stamped with the trendiness of its designs, the emotion that lies behind each collection is always present.

Succeeding its organic yet fast growth and evolution with their Baby and Kids’ lines.

The New Society has the goal of being part of the change and making a positive impact on a social and environmental level. The New Society works daily on looking for conscious solutions at each step of the production process:

1. The collections are created in small workshops in Portugal where we look for experience and passion in those they work with, and so create dignified working conditions.

2. All The New Society garments are made of organic, recycled or natural fibers - eliminating fertilizers and pesticides from the process. Thus, they avoid contaminating the land or water.

3. The New Society works to reduce water and energy consumption, cut the volume of their textile waste and eliminate plastics from their packaging.

4. The New Society chooses certified wash facilities that offer a cleaner and more conscientious service, avoiding the use of corrosive dyes and bleaches, using biodegradable detergents and reusing the water once it has been purified. In the way The New Society reduces the impact on one of the most polluting processes in the value chain.

Long story short: La gentile loves the New Society. Not only their collections are amazing we also love their way of working. Click here to check out the latest collection from The New Society.
